Haley Lu attended the New York ‘The Chaperone’ Premiere back on March 25. She looked radiant in a Prabal Gurung ‘Jackie’ velvet dress. The Chaperone is based on Laura Moriarty’s best-selling novel of the same name. It was adapted for the screen by Downton Abbey creator and writer Julian Fellowes and directed by Michael Engler who also helmed the new Downton Abbey movie. The film tells the story of a teen dancer, played by Richardson, who moves from Kansas to seek fame and fortune in New York City. She is accompanied by a respectable society lady from her rural hometown, played by McGovern, who finds her life transformed by the experience.
